Lisle’s Government is first rate. The Village administration and Lisle Police personnel are housed in a stately, spacious building which has special historic significance to longtime Lisle residents; it is the building which originally served as the Main Street School. The building was remodeled and expanded in the late 1970s and is the focal point of the tree-lined downtown business district. The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District operates five stations, covers 38 square miles, and protects over 72,000 people. In 1994, The Lisle Fire Department’s district became the first in the country to achieve the highest possible insurance rating -ISO Class 1.

Served by the trains of the Burlington Northern, Lisle is just a 35-minute ride from downtown Chicago. P.A.C.E. buses also serve the community as shuttle buses that feed the commuter trains. Illinois Route 53, Maple Avenue, and Yackley and College Road provide convenient routes to employment, entertainment, or shopping beyond the village limits.
